Discover the Exodus Path in the heart of Wadi Rum


On the backside of the Wadi Rum Wilderness Area is the mountain Jabal Umm ad Dami.  Jabal Umm ad Dami is the tallest mountain in Jordan and a popular mountain for tourists to climb in Wadi Rum.  It lies just above the border with Saudi Arabia between Jabal Maqla and Petra.


Its size and location are leading some to speculate that Jabal Umm ad Dami is the biblical Mount Paran, a mountain associated in scripture with Mount Sinai. The Wilderness of Paran was twice a stop of the ancient Israelites on the Exodus route from Sinai to the Promised Land.
